Abstract
The convergence era has begun raising the need for intelligent assistance in the large amound of multimedia content already available in the home environment. In this paper we present a Personal Video Recorder that exploits meta-data obtained from a service provider or locally generated, to provide users with profile-based filtering and innovative user-friendly video browsing tools. Its user interface concepts enable ways of interacting with recorded video archives that are far beyond the traditional linear and passive way of watching television.
