Abstract
A digital presentation technology that manages anything from text to full-motion video has the potential of expanding the usefulness of personal computers, while rendering them less intimidating. Digital Video Interactive (DVIe) technology brings televisions sights and sounds to personal computers, and promises to make them less intimidating in the process. It is based on a simple concept: all presentation materials are represented digitally and stored together on a random-access device such as a hard disk or CD-ROM, and accessed directly by the computer.
